Online Bowling Game

Enjoy Bowling in Fun Easy Ways

Bowling amateurs as well as professionals agree on one thing about the game. Bowling relieves tension and stress and helps free many emotions that cannot be released in any other way. What better way to have fun and enjoy the time spent either for a healthy competition or merely a friendly game than to go bowling. Below are more tips to get everyone participating in the game to enjoy the sport.

1. Experiment with different kinds of bowling balls. Try the different weights, size, and colors until the most comfortable ball is found. Rule of thumb is: choose the ball that is most comfortable to carry and release but make sure the weight is heavy enough.

2. If playing bowling is turning out to be a passion, purchase a custom made bowling ball; one made for ease, and with holes drilled especially to fit the owner's fingers.

3. Discount sporting goods stores carry a wide selection of bowling balls that are less expensive and yet perform very well.

4. Choose bowling shoes that fit perfectly and do not pinch the toes. Avoid slippery soled shoes and to get the best deal check with the many discount stores.

5. Begin by placing the feet at the start of the alley for this affects the ball's direction. Try different angles and places to get the right angle for releasing the ball. Once the perfect spot is discovered, make sure to stand in the same place each time for consistency.

6. To attain perfect balance, right-handed players step with their right foot first when they approach the foul line and the left foot is used to give the last step when the ball is released and vise versa.

7. Practice doing the steps slowly and visualize a ball in your hand. It will be helpful to do the flare in front of a mirror to get used to the way the body is maneuvered during the approach.

8. Always aim at the head pin. Look at the balls closely and concentrate on hitting the target. Never take the eyes away from the head pin during the first or second ball. Professionals say that balls really do follow the player's eyes.

9. Bend the knees when releasing the ball as this creates ball control.

10.Avoid turning the wrist to prevent fracture.
11. Wipe the ball as often as needed to keep dirt and oil from sticking to it and make sure that it is dry. Using a clean ball during the game helps the ball get the curve desired.

No matter how when a player started bowling, it is the passion and the sense of fun that leads him to success. Just keep on practicing and the scores will continue to grow.

Crawler Bowling

Crawler in Bowling In bowling bad shots may happen

A crawler is when the ball does not hit the center pin. This may be improved by adjusting the delivery of the ball. Bowling involves many repetitions. The repetition of the delivery of the ball can help in hitting the right target and executing the right movements.

Here are some tips for a better delivery of the ball:

1. Having a relaxed grip of the ball is very important in making the arm flow freely when swinging. This will help in overcoming the fear of dropping the ball. The fingers should be always be relaxed when delivering (swinging) the ball.

2. It is also recommended that a bowler learn the different styles and techniques of bowling. This will help him get used to the movements and find out which styles are effective for him in hitting all the pins.

3. A bowler should be able to estimate his timing. The regular timing should be different from the spare timing - this will help him determine which timing is more effective for him. If he sticks to the normal timing only, he will not be able to determine whether the faster or slower timing caused a bad shot.

4. The player should learn to adjust to different conditions. Bowling is a mental game. Coping with different conditions is one way of exhibiting this skill. The player should be sensitive to different factors such as the balls, movements, players and even the condition of the lanes. Being observant will help him be creative with his movements.

5. It is essential to always keep an eye on the target. He must focus on the target from start to finish. Losing focus will cause inconsistencies and a bad performance.

6. Practice makes perfect. A beginner should practice often if he would like to excel in bowling. Bowling requires the players to master many movements and styles. It is only through continuous practice that one can master the game of repetition.

There may be good and bad moves in bowling, but that do not mean that a bad performance will limit a person. As long as people enjoy bowling and have a great time whether they are beginners or pros, then there is no reason to be afraid.

Bowling Alleys

Tips in Choosing the Best Bowling Alleys

Bowling has been a popular sport for Americans and other nationalities. Bowling is a leisure activity that provides many health and physiological benefits. Bowling may be a form of relaxation to many or a way to bond with families and friends.

Bowling alleys are special facilities where people participate in the sport of bowling. These alleys provide lanes for bowling and other amenities. They are a place where a person can relax and enjoy the sport as well as spend time with family and friends...

Here are the factors to consider when choosing a bowling alley:

1. The location of the bowling alley should be taken into consideration. An alley close to his/her home location will make it convenient and inviting. A bowling alley close to his/her workplace could also be considered so that he/she could easily go to the bowling alley after work.

2. The facilities of the alley should also be considered. Many bowling alleys now have modern facilities like electronic scoreboards. People are attracted to places where the facilities are modern.

3. The employees working at the bowling alley should be friendly and accommodating. Employees who are friendly will make the place inviting. The instructors should also be friendly and willing to help with all the needs of the bowlers, especially the beginners. Bowlers should be able to learn many techniques from instructors that are friendly and willing to share their skills.

4. The bowling alleys should be clean and properly maintained. Bowlers go to alleys to enjoy and relax. If the alley is not clean and properly maintained, bowlers will not be comfortable. All facilities should also be properly maintained to provide safety for the bowlers.

Bowling Online Game

RocketballBowling Online – Enjoying the Game Away from the Lanes

You set up, shoulders square with the foul line; you eye the target, aligning yourself with the dots on the lane; you raise the ball in preparation, stepping to move forward, slide, swing and let go. The ball travels just as you had envisioned it; and knocks down the split pins at the far end of the alley. The crowd cheers. You’ve won the tournament! - All from the comforts of your home.

Yes, practically all sports have a digital version of the game available for playing on the computer. It is now possible to “bowl” virtually through a number of computer games available on the Internet.

Some games are serious with considerations for physics as detailed as speed of approach and spin. Then there are others that are purely for cathartic fun. Here’s a short list of bowling-based online games that have been making the rounds lately:

There are many free games online that build on the basic alley, pins and ball setup, with little variations. To check out some, try tapping out key bowling phrases on your favorite search engine to find games such as Polar Bowler, Pot Bowling Around the World, It's Raining Pins, and Bowling Evolution. Some details on select games follow:

Gutterball 2
Its creators claim it’s the most realistic 3D bowling game. Building on the success of the first version, this one has an added 5 new lanes to its existing library. Rendered in 3D, the game makes for a fun coffee-break companion.

Rocketbowl
The traditional bowling game with an explosive twist! Bowling balls are powered by rockets and can propel over all sorts of obstacles like water traps, bridges, and tunnels before knocking down pins. Some pins carry money points with them letting you earn points to buy more exciting balls!

Elf
This game was a runaway hit just before the year 2000, when it made its debut during the holidays of 1999. It features Jolly Ol’ Saint Nick knocking down toy factory elves on “strike” (can the pun get any more obvious?). With its funny cartoon like graphics, it has developed a niche following and has spawned different versions since its inception. Unfortunately, the game is only for downloading and an online version doesn’t exist yet.

So there you are, even if you’re not on the lanes, you can still bowl and have fun with the click of a mouse. Albeit there is little comparison to the real game, it does come quite close. Now all that’s missing are the sodas and fries!

Bowling Tournament

Bowling Tournaments: Where Fun and Money Come together

For starters, it is a game that almost anybody can engage in. It is a relatively easier sport to play than others that involve more skills and techniques. It is also less expensive to play than many other sports and is all fun, with no trouble getting the ball to start rolling down the lane.

No wonder nearly 100 million people are now “hooked on” bowling.

Not all of them are really serious about the game but there are many who desire to join leagues and play in tournaments. In fact, in the United States, out of the 50 million people that play bowling, only 6 million belong to a league or play in tournaments.

What are bowling tournaments?

Competitive people who really want to succeed in the world of bowling are the ones that play in tournaments. The gratifications that every bowler obtains in competition are not just personal advancements as far as bowling is concerned, but also can produce monetary satisfaction.

However, it is not that easy to win in a tournament. It takes much practice and many skills to win the game. Here is a list of some tips that will make bowling tournament playing more gratifying.

1. Have enough time to randomly check all your equipments before leaving your residence or place of work. It will be very hard for you to go back once you have arrived at the tournament’s venue.

2. Be professional.

Do not just arrive on time but ahead of time. This will give you enough time to condition yourself for the game and will make you more relaxed and comfortable about the place, the people around you, and the other players.

3. Take advantage of “pre-game” exercises.

Do not think that it is just a practice game so you do not have to give it your best shot. Keep in mind that this the time that you want to make a good impression. As the experts say, “pre-game” exercises can make or break your progression.

4. Keep focused.

While in the game, always make it a point to keep your head upright. Maintain a good level of concentration. If the pins are not going your way, cool it! Bad temper will only get you into more trouble.

Bowling in a tournament can really make a big difference in a bowler’s career but things is still the same – you are trying to make a strike or to win the game, whether for fun or for the tournament.

In sports, what matters most is that you have played the game well.

Bowling Games

Which Type of Bowling Game Matches the Player's Style

Bowling has one objective and that is to knock down pins for victory, but this game has different types as well. In delivering a ball, bowlers have developed ways to properly toss it for effective strikes down the lane. Beginners mistakenly toss the ball in a straight line thinking that this is the best way to make a strike and little do they know that it is very ineffective. The most effective styles now used in tournaments are the popular spinner, cranker, and stoker games.

The spinner style of bowling game is widely used by players all over the world. To fight difficult conditions, the ball is swung a little later than common swings before tossing. This release is known by a very creative name, the "UFO" also known as the "helicopter”. The release is done when using a light bowling ball, preferably the 10 - 12 lb. ball, because a heavy ball is difficult to maneuver. The player moves his wrist in a rotating motion during the toss, which causes the ball to spin. What makes this game very competitive is its power to make the ball tilt as the ball hits the head pin and produces a train reaction that knocks the other pins.

Another bowling style is the cranker. It needs a great amount of muscle strength and physical power to release the ball. The player uses the shoulder muscle with the wrist cupped and the elbow bent to keep the ball under control. The slide of the player must stop just before the foul line to maximize the release power while standing straight and using a full shoulder backswing. The bowler will need enough space to throw the ball so that it creates a screeching sound while approaching the pins.

Last but not least is the classic Stoker style which has both flare and grace. Unlike the cranker style where the player tosses the ball with open shoulders, this bowler maintains closed shoulders, pointing the whole body at the head pin. The slide is in sync with the ball's approach to the target. This provides a good target and creates a more harmonious reaction from the ball. An oily lane contributes to the flare of the ball as it reaches the target. Instead of exerting force from the muscle, the bowler lets the ball do the job by depending on the swing.

Strike in Bowling

Get that Strike in Bowling

Many bowlers aspire to have consistent strikes in bowling but their schedules may not allow them to practice in a bowling alley as frequently as they would like. There are many ways bowlers can practice and improve their performance even if they are away from the bowling lanes. Visualize the performance of consistent strikes that every bowler dreams of making. Here are some helpful tips on how to get the strikes even when not in the lanes.

The home can be a suitable venue to practice in place of the bowling lanes. Find a place in the house where the floor is vinyl, hardwood, tile or any flooring that is similar to the texture of the bowling lanes.

Make a “T” shape using a tape or any marker to mark the place as the starting position. The player may then put his toes on the top of the “T” that he improvised. He will then be able to figure out his ideal step and mark the exact spot where he can make his first step.

He can then proceed practicing by visualizing the bowling action and getting the strike. Repeat the first step several times to become consistent with the move. It is important not to look down at the marker he made each time he takes that step. He should be able to master the exact location of the ideal step he has assigned in the marker. The repetition will allow him to perfect his step.

He may also perform his moves on the imaginary lane that he made. He can do the moves even without a ball or he can improvise with any round object that can roll and has the same weight as a standard bowling ball. He can imagine the lane, focus at the center of the imaginary lane, and think that there are pins standing on it. Practice the backswing and hook techniques by imagining throwing a ball at a specific target.

Practicing at home is a great way to master the skills and get consistent strikes when bowling. Bowling requires focus and imagination and practicing at home using the improvised lane is one good way to stay focused and be imaginative.

Bowling for Soup

3 Striking Facts about Bowling for Soup

Since its inception, bowling has consistently obtained and retained its recognition in the sports category. In the United States alone, there are 50 million people that participate in the sport.

Because of its extreme popularity, the fascination for bowling has reached all classes of society, including musicians. Yes, the concept of bowling is so popular that even musicians or band members have used bowling terms when naming their bands. Bowling for Soup coined their band name from the sport.

Bowling for Soup is an all-male band that engages in “pop-punk” music. Originally from Wichita Falls, Texas; this band was recognized for its hit singles like “Girl All the Bad Guys Want” that was released in 2002. Their newest hits were “Almost” and “1985.”

The band’s popularity soars as they continue to create songs that are widely accepted by the “pre-teen” group.

For those who are not yet familiar with the band, here are five amazing facts:

1. The band got its name from “Bowling for Shit,” a routine from Steve Martin’s comedy album, “Wild and Crazy Guy,” that was released in 1978.

2. They are known as “musical heavyweights” and drunk-rockers. But all of that changed when they were nominated for the 2003 Grammy Award for their category, “Best Performance Pop, By a Duo or Group.”

Since then, they are no longer known as the “fat guys” from Texas. After the Grammy’s, they now acclaim themselves as the “Grammy-nominated fat guys from Texas.”

3. Their name has nothing to do with the sport of bowling, but they do bowl; they are not “true-blue bowlers” which is what they call themselves. Jaret Riddick, the band’s lead vocalist and lead guitarist has stated that they play “badly” when it comes to bowling. They participated in a bowling event known as a “Bowl-a-thon,” where Chris Burney, their bassist and vocalist, was able to score a “scorching” 70.

On the other hand, the term “soup” has nothing to do with edible soup either – the fact is that Riddick admitted that he is not a “soup eater.”

Given all of the above, this band has made a great impact on the entertainment scene. They are very popular even if they are not into the sport of bowling. Whether it has been a strike or a spare, they have hit their way to fame.

In the bowling center, the bowling lane is the most distinguishable area. Aside from its instant recognition, the bowling lane serves as the primary area where the bowler displays his or her skills and delivers the best shot he or she can make.

It is also important that the player knows the details of the bowling lane in order to come up with a strategy that would enable him/her to hit the pins.

The concept of choosing the lane is not so much on preference per se, but more on the familiarity of the player with the lane he or she is going to use because if the bowler knows or is familiar with the bowling lane that he will choose, it would be easier for him to locate the “strike line” and deliver more strikes or spares.

Experts contend that the composition of every adjustment, strike, or spare system is established within the dimensions of the bowling lane.

Bowlers who are not yet familiar with the lane dimensions and who do not know how to choose the best strategy that is appropriate for the bowling lane he will use, will find the following tips useful:

1. The general length of a bowling lane, as set by the regulations committee, is 62 feet and 10 3/16th inches. This measurement is only from the foul line up to the pit or the area at the end of the lane ahead of the pin deck. This does not include the tail plank.

2. The length of the lane from the foul line to the area where the pins are standing is 60 feet. Knowing this measurement and calculating the distance accurately can really make a big difference in a bowler’s performance.

Therefore, whether bowlers aim for a strike or a spare, it is important to know the dimensions of the bowling lane to avoid lane hazards.
